Buy List Terms

Last updated September 23, 2026.

The three that matter most.

Postage is yours in both directions, which is why the rates on the page are what they are. We pay on our count, not yours, and you see that count broken down by category before any money moves. And an accurate count means no surprises — price the box honestly and you already know what it is worth before you tape it shut.

What this covers

These terms apply when you send us cards through the buy list on Sell Your Bulk. They do not apply to anything you buy from us on eBay, which is governed by eBay’s own policies and by our Terms of Use.

You must be 18 or over, and the cards must be yours to sell. We buy from people in the United States. If you are outside it, contact us before sending anything rather than after.

The estimate is not the payment

The calculator uses your numbers. We pay on ours, counted by hand against the same published rates. An estimate is not an offer, and nothing is agreed until we have counted what actually arrived.

Most submissions land close to the estimate. The ones that do not are usually miscounts rather than disagreements, which is why you get the breakdown rather than a single number.

The rate lock, and the ship-by date

When you submit, the rates you were quoted are held against your reference for 14 days, and you are given a ship-by date 7 days out. That gap is on purpose: it is time to get a box, sort, pack and reach a post office.

The postmark decides, not the arrival. Ship on or before your ship-by date and the locked rates are what we pay, however long the carrier then takes. Transit is the one part of this you cannot control, and making you carry it would be us charging you for our convenience.

Ship after that date and current published rates apply instead. If that changes your total materially we will tell you before paying rather than quietly pay the lower number. If something got in the way, say so — re-holding a rate is a conversation, not a rule, and we would rather have the cards than the principle.

Your ship-by date is on your submission page, on your packing slip and in the email. We send one reminder a few days before it, and only if you have not already told us the box is on its way.

Who pays postage

You do. We do not send prepaid labels. Every shop that buys bulk works this way, and it is the reason the rates on the page are what they are rather than lower.

A medium flat rate box holds around 4,200 cards and a large one around 6,500, so the postage per card is small once the box is full. Below $25.00 we will not take a submission at all, because postage tends to eat most of it and we would rather say so before you tape the box shut than after.

Send it by USPS. Our intake address is a PO Box, and UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to one — a label from either is a label that cannot arrive. This is also why USPS tracking is the only kind the submission page accepts.

Until your cards reach us they are yours and they are at your risk. We strongly suggest tracking, and we cannot do anything about a package that never arrives.

How long we take

We confirm your box arrived within one business day of it being delivered, and pay within two business days of that.

If something is going to take longer, we email you before that window is up rather than after. A delay you were told about is a delay; a silent one is the thing everybody is actually afraid of when they mail cards to a stranger.

Payment is by PayPal, to the address you gave us. We cover the PayPal fees. Check the address before you send — a payment to the wrong PayPal account is not something we can pull back.

When our count does not match yours

You see the breakdown by category before any money moves, so you can check our count against your own rather than take one number on trust.

If you would rather have the cards back than take the payment, you can have them back. Return postage is yours, the same as it was on the way in. We do not mark up what the carrier charges, and we tell you the cost before you decide.

This is why the count you send matters. The rates are published, the categories are defined, and nothing about what we pay appears only after your cards arrive. Count carefully and you know the number before you ship, which should make sending a box back something neither of us ever needs to do.

Either way, tell us within seven days of the breakdown going out. After that bulk gets combined with other intake and cannot be picked apart again.

Cards we will not buy

A box always contains something unexpected. Anything outside the categories we publish — damaged cards, another game, non-English where we did not agree it beforehand — is set aside, and we tell you what we found and what it was.

You choose what happens to it. If you want it back, send us a label and we will mail it back. Otherwise we hold it for 30 days and then recycle it. Nothing is resold without your permission.

What you are confirming when you submit

The eligibility checks on the form are not decoration. By submitting you confirm that every card is English, that every card is Near Mint, and that there is no basic energy or code cards in the sorted categories. Unsorted bulk is the exception and is bought at a flat rate per thousand with basic energy allowed.

You also confirm the cards are genuine. We do not buy counterfeits, proxies or reprints sold as originals. If counterfeits turn up in a submission we will not pay for them, we will tell you, and we will not send them back.

If we get something wrong

Tell us. Reply to any email we have sent you about your submission and it reaches the same thread — there is no ticket number to quote and no account to sign into.

Our liability for a submission is limited to the value of the cards in it at our published rates. That is the honest ceiling for a bulk purchase, and it is stated here rather than left to be discovered.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms, and the date at the top is when we last did. A change never applies backwards.

The terms that govern your submission are the ones published on the day the carrier accepted it — the postmark, the same date your rates are judged on. Once a box is out of your hands, nothing we publish afterwards can change the deal you shipped under.

Ship after your ship-by date and that protection lapses with the rate lock: the terms and the rates in force when your cards reach us apply instead. One date decides both, so there is never a question of which rule you are on.
